TriPeaks Solitaire: Complete Rules
TriPeaks Solitaire is played on three overlapping peaks of 28 cards. Flip over a waste card, then play any uncovered peak card that is one rank higher or lower, with King and Ace wrapping. Draw from the stock when stuck. Clear all 28 peak cards to win.
The three peaks
The tableau forms a skyline: three triangles standing side by side. Each peak has one card on top, two beneath, then three, and the bottom rows of neighbouring peaks join to form a single line of ten cards. In all, 3 + 6 + 9 + 10 = 28 cards. The ten on the bottom row are face up; the others are face down until uncovered.
The remaining 24 cards go in a stock pile. The top card of the stock turns over to start the waste, leaving 23 in the stock.
Playing a card
A card is available when no other card overlaps it. It may be played onto the waste when its rank is one higher or one lower than the top waste card. Suits do not matter. The ranks wrap, so a King can be played on an Ace or a Queen, and an Ace on a King or a 2.
| Waste card | You may play |
|---|---|
| 6 | 5 or 7 |
| Queen | Jack or King |
| King | Queen or Ace |
| Ace | 2 or King |
Drawing and stuck positions
If nothing fits, tap the stock to move its top card onto the waste, giving you a new target. There are no redeals. When the stock is gone and nothing on the peaks fits, the game is over.
How points are earned

Opening position
The waste shows a 7. These four cards are available.
Mistakes that break streaks
- Drawing while a legal play is still sitting on the board.
- Playing a card that hides nothing when another play would open a peak.
- Forgetting the wrap and missing a King-to-Ace link.
- Leaving the stock for last; the final draws are easy to waste.
If you prefer a layout where everything is face up, Golf uses the same step rule without wrapping.
TriPeaks questions, answered
Does the game wrap from King to Ace?
In this version, yes: an Ace and a King count as neighbours. Some versions treat the ranks as a straight line, so check the rules before comparing scores with other sites.
Can I play the same rank again?
No. The new card must be exactly one rank above or below the waste card. Two sevens in a row are not allowed.
Can I go back to cards in the waste pile?
No. Only the top waste card matters; earlier cards are buried and never return.
What counts as a peak?
There are three triangles. The card at the very top of each is the peak. Clearing it earns a bonus and means that triangle is finished.
Is there a time limit?
No limit. The clock only records how long the game took.
